Meet the WALL-E lookalike robot that disinfects surfaces, opens doors and delivers pills to patients
WALL-E may have roamed the earth alone 800 years in the future. But now a lookalike robot could be coming to the UK as early as 2023. And rather than just pick up litter like the Disney creation, this one is all-action. Aeolus Robotics claim their android can act as a security guard, a hospital cleaner and even take over the job of staff in care homes. Council Post: Artificial Intelligence: Investment In Innovation Is A Key To Success
I lead digital accelerations for companies across all industries. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines artificial intelligence (AI) as "the ability of a digital computer or computer-controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings." In simple terms, AI allows computers to perform tasks generally done by humans. While much is said about what AI is, less is said about what exactly it can achieve for your company. In addition to automating workflows and tasks, AI is fulfilling functions of great importance in the daily processes of some of the best-valued companies worldwide.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in retail: Benefits
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has begun to revolutionize the retail sphere. AI-powered solutions help companies optimize their business processes, enhance customer satisfaction, boost their sales, and maximize revenues. From this article, you'll get to know how exactly retailers can benefit from AI. All the technologies that will be described already exist. Businesses that managed to integrate them earlier than their competitors have made a lot of money from them.
Seeing Results From AI, Even During Covid-19 Recession
New York has always been known as the city that never sleeps. In this crisis time, this definition has never been clearer. Citizens of NYC have been subjected to the stress of Coronavirus pressures, which have hit Americans with fatigue and feelings of hopelessness as a result of our grim economic situation. NYC continues to fight back and be resilient, combating the crisis situation with innovative companies like IPsoft that provide unique AI solutions for clients. By leveraging AI solutions, we can bring America back to its former glory, and instead transform the cause of sleepless nights from recession anxiety to the exhaustion of a memorable night out in the city that never sleeps.

How AI is redefining cloud technology and delivering business efficiency
Over the years, cloud computing has become an essential tool for modern businesses, with the majority of companies now using the software in 2020. With the increasing need to deliver remote working for a global workforce most businesses are experiencing the benefit it can bring. However, this doesn't come as a surprise when the platform is enhancing stability and security, whilst allowing staff to work more flexibly with reduced costs. Although, as with all technologies, there is opportunity to innovate further. Similar to the cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has worked its way into our everyday lives.
Robot Hotel Loses Love for Robots
Turns out, robots aren't the best at hospitality. After opening in a blaze of publicity in 2015, Japan's Henn na, or "Strange," Hotel, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's first robot hotel, is now laying off its low-performing droids. So far, the hotel has culled over half of its 243 robots, many because they created work rather than reduced it. "It's easier now that we're not being frequently called by guests to help with problems with the robots," said one staff member who has worked at the hotel for three years. Robots and other devices that could be useful to the hospitality industry were all over the CES consumer-technology show last week in Las Vegas. Self-driving shuttle buses can move visitors around; a Lenovo Smart Clock with a built-in Google assistant can turn the lights on or read you a bedtime story; and a delivery robot called Segway-Ninebot Loomo Delivery can zip goods around a building complex.

NHS uses 'AI workers' that are eight times more efficient than human staff
An NHS Trust has started using robots to make routine referrals as part of a drive to cut costs and boost efficiency. East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) is testing the ability of new artificial intelligence technology to conduct administrative work, such as submitting scan and blood test results from GPs to hospital consultants. It claims the system is eight times more productive than using human staff. The system has been in operation at Ipswich Hospital for the past three months and has saved staff more than 570 hours of work. The Trust claims the system will save them £220,000 in the next 9 months.
How to make AI work for everyone
The following is a guest article from Kriti Sharma, VP of AI at Sage. Artificial intelligence (AI) had a breakthrough year in 2017. More companies rolled out, and invested in, AI-driven platforms, products and customer-oriented services. More publications covered AI as a mainstream topic. More people began to encounter AI -- wittingly or unwittingly.
What Reinventors Know. Part 4: The importance of culture
If you've been keeping up with the earlier parts of this series, you'll know that Reinventors are agile and future-focused. Reinventors build emerging technologies into their business strategy to help achieve future strategic goals. They prepare for a future of increased intelligence and automation. They understand intrinsically that platforms are the key to better data usage but also new business opportunity. But perhaps most importantly, they are masters at the art of managing change within their organizations, by creating a culture of transparent leadership, open communication and trust.
Deep Learning is not the AI future
Everyone now is learning, or claiming to learn, Deep Learning (DL), the only field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that went viral. Paid and free DL courses count 100,000s of students of all ages. Too many startups and products are named "deep-something", just as buzzword: very few are using DL really. Most ignore that DL is the 1% of the Machine Learning (ML) field, and that ML is the 1% of the AI field. Remaining 99% is what's used in practice for most tasks.
